Understanding card value
The app shows a value estimate beside each card. Use it as a reference when you list or buy. It is not a guaranteed sale price.
Sealed cards
Before reveal, the estimate uses:
- The card’s deposit.
- The basket’s total deposits.
- The latest basket value available to the app.
The final ownership percentage can be higher or lower after reveal.
Revealed cards
After reveal, the estimate uses:
- The card’s ownership percentage.
- The stock tokens held by the basket.
- The latest available prices for those tokens.
This gives you a clearer view of the assets behind the card.
Why the estimate can change
Card value can move when:
- Stock token prices change.
- The basket’s displayed price data updates.
- A sealed card reveals a different ownership percentage.
- A marketplace listing includes a premium or discount.
Market prices may be delayed or unavailable. Check the basket holdings and current prices before making a decision.
Compare a listing
Before buying:
- Check whether the card is sealed or revealed.
- Open the basket and review its holdings.
- Compare the listing price with the displayed estimate.
- Review the royalty and network fee.
- Decide whether the uncertainty or premium fits your risk.
Sellers can choose any asking price. Sherhood does not force a minimum or maximum listing price.
Claimed cards
A claimed card has no remaining basket assets. Sherhood removes it permanently after claim so it cannot be listed again.
